First 2020/2021 Club Meeting!

We will hold our first club meeting of the season Tuesday, September 8th, 7pm, at Happy Trails Tavern, Argusville, ND. 
We will be meeting in the backroom, (but will also be out at the clubs new Storage Container located just behind Happy Trails Tavern) as this space will allow us to maintain social distancing so everyone can feel comfortable attending. We would love to see as many members there as possible, but due to the current situation, we understand if anyone is not comfortable attending.
The primary agenda items include:

  • Wheel’s “Kick-off to winter event” Friday, Sept. 11th- Sat. 12th. Wheel’s is again offering us a space to set up a booth and talk to snowmobilers about joining the club. We plan to have a table set up both days and could use volunteers to help man it. Club President Spencer Symington has ordered us a club logo’ed table cloth and we will have membership forms, clothing, maps, etc. Last year we did get 2-3 signed up at this event, and there was pretty light traffic as there was a Bison home game that day. Wheel’s is also holding a swap meet, with locals vendors setting up for that as well. Hopefully that will increase the memberships!
  • plans for setting up new storage container. 
  • sorting/ordering of trail signage and trailers for both north and south loops
  • setting up rest of season meetings/locations
  • discussion on membership mailers to be sent again. we want to do this ASAP
  • trail system/changes/discussion. Tim Tigges, south loop coordinator, had talked of some possible changes
  • End of 2020 season club/trail/groomer reports
  • 2021 state ride/SnoJam discussion
     

Also, I would like to extend an early CONGRATULATIONS to club member Wyatt Kram. Wyatt is getting married(in a private ceremony) Saturday, September 12th! Wyatt has kind of been appointed as the official club trail sign welder! Congrats Wyatt!

  • The ruralcass.org club website has been updated. Between Facebook, e-mails, and the website, we hope to be able to keep recruiting new blood into the club!

June 2020, final meeting of the season

club storage container 3-2020We will be holding our last club meeting of the 2019/2020 season Tuesday, June 9th at 7pm. We will be meeting outdoors at the clubs new Storage Container located just behind Happy Trails Tavern in Argusville, as this space will allow us to maintain social distancing so everyone can feel comfortable attending.(If it rains, we can use the large back room of Happy Trails). We would love to see as many members there as possible, but due to the current situation, we understand if anyone is not able to attend.
 
The primary agenda items include:
 
End of season reports:
groomer, finances, clothing. container, signs, trails, etc.
sorting/ordering of trail signage
plans for setting up new storage container
Off season club needs
Next season early prep needs
scheduling 2020/2021 season first meeting.
2021 state ride update
 
we will not be doing any club elections at this meeting. those will not happen until the end of the 2020/2021 season.

April 2020 update

We hope this note finds you and your family healthy and happy. 
 
New Business.
 
No meeting this month. We will see if there is a need to get together down the road in person or via ZOOM or something. however, nothing is currently planned.
 
Trail sign removal. we do still need to remove all the trail signs in the near future as farmers will possibly start opening fields in the coming weeks. This will be a little different from years past as we try to follow the distancing rules effectively. The weather for this Saturday, April 18th, looks to be almost 60 degrees, which is quite a change from today! After talking with some of the club’s board of directors, we have decided to try go out on our own, in separate vehicles, to pick-up sections of the trail. We would Love extra help! If you are available anytime this weekend to get out, and get some fresh air and pick some signs, we can find an area for you!
Club Storage Container. with the help of a few club members we were able to get the container moved into place in Argusville last month. Once we are able to get together(hopefully in the near future!) we will set up some evenings or weekends to work on the container and get it prepped for sign storage.

Trail Sign inventory. once signs are removed and things hopefully get back to normal, we will have an evening set to do sign inventory for both north and south loops

Banners/parades. talk of getting 2 banners printed at Short Printer and doing some parades as a group this summer. Main priority would be Cassleton Summerfest, Saturday, July 25th. But would also like to be in any other local events.

We have about half dozen committed to helping so far, would love for that number to double!
