Youth Snowmobile Safety Classes Planned


Three youth snowmobile safety classes are planned in the local area:

North Dakota law requires youth ages 12 and older, who do not have a valid driver’s license or permit, to take a safety certification class.  The certification is needed in order to legally operate a snowmobile on any public land which includes the state snowmobile trail system and ditches. There is a $30 charge for the classes. To pre-register, call the registration hotline at 328.5348 or register by email at ridesafe@nd.gov.

Youth can take one of the scheduled in-person classes. Online certification also is available.

Don’t forget about club meeting tonight — new members welcome!


The first club meeting for this snowmobiling season for the Rural Cass Snowmobile Club will be Tuesday, Oct 30 at 7 PM at the Pizza Ranch, Casselton. The meetings are held in the back meeting space, and all club members and interested local snowmobilers are invited.

The club serves the communities of Amenia, Argusville, Arthur, Casselton, Davenport, Mapleton, and Leonard.

Items on the agenda will include:

  • Trail signing
  • Membership drive
  • Club events
  • SnowJam 2013
  • Possible participation at Winter Wonderland of Lights
  • Other items brought forward by attendees
