Snowmobile Safety Simulator coming to SnowJam 2011

Greg Strommen of Fargo demonstrates the snowmobile safety simulator that will be on hand at SnowJam 2011. The simulator, which is owned by Snowmobile North Dakota and North Dakota Park and Rec, helps riders learn how to balance on a snowmobile as it goes over varying terrain. Anyone will be able to try it out on Saturday, Jan. 22 at Hagge’s Bar and Grill in Mapleton. SnowJam 2011, hosted by Rural Cass Snowmobile Club, an affiliate of East Central Valley Trail Association, is the area’s premier snowmobile trail ride and vintage snowmobile show. You won’t want to miss it!

Check out the pictures posted from last year.  Included are pictures from the bonfire (yes, we call that a bonfire!), the vintage snowmobile display, many of the great prizes donated by area businesses, and some pictures of the games (like rock/paper/scissor or the snowmobile belt toss) that everyone gets involved in.

Hope to see you at SnowJam 2011!

SnowJam 2011, the premier snowmobiling event in the eastern part of North Dakota has been scheduled for Saturday, Jan 22, with headquarters at Hagge’s Bar and Grill in Mapleton.

“Mark your calendars now for what’s become known statewide as a very fun snowmobiling day,” said Troy Klevgard, president of the Rural Cass Snowmobile Club, who is the sponsor for SnowJam.

Key items at SnowJam will include a snowmobile trail ride along more than 100 miles of groomed Cass County trails, a vintage snowmobile display and ride, tons of prizes and a band in the evening. Stay tuned for a few surprises this year, as well.
