Special club meeting set Monday

Rural Cass Snowmobile Club has scheduled a SPECIAL MEETING for all local club members for Monday, Dec 16, at 7 PM at Hagge’s Bar and Grill, Mapleton.

Trail signing wrap up plans need to be discussed for the north loop of the trail connecting Mapleton, Harwood, Argusville, Arthur and Amenia. The remaining trail signing for this loop needs to be completed ASAP or the trail will NOT be opened this year. The deadline was Dec 15 set by Snowmobile North Dakota.

This is an urgent issue and we need member representation at this meeting to make a good decision about the trail.  All local snowmobilers are encouraged to attend.

Local youth can take snowmobile safety certification class online

Safe riding is the key to any successful outing on a snowmobile. North Dakota law requires youth ages 12 and older, who do not have a valid driver’s license or permit, to take a safety certification class.  The certification is needed in order to legally operate a snowmobile on any public land which includes the state snowmobile trail system and ditches.

To become certified, the following guidelines must be met:

  • Attend a scheduled classroom or hands-on class in your area, or take the online certification course from home.
  • Be at least 12 years of age.
  • Successfully complete the safety certification test.

You may obtain your certification card by completing the Snowmobile Safety Course online.

To test your snowmobile safety knowledge; take a free snowmobile safety practice quiz at http://www.snowmobilecourse.com.
