UMotors hosting avalanche safety class


A four-hour avalanche safety class specifically for snowmobilers is being hosted by UMotors of Fargo on either Nov 28 or Nov 29. Classes will run from 6-10 PM at the new UMotors location.

During this class, attendees will learn more on avalanche awareness, avoidance and rescue. They will learn how to avoid the most common mistakes, what equipment works best, how to rescue effectively, evaluate terrain, avoid terrain traps, analyze stability and increase skills in the mountains. Cost for the class if $49 per person.

Mike Duffy, a Level I and II avalanche instructor from Colorado, will be leading the class.

Snowmobile North Dakota launches new website


Snowmobile North Dakota has launched a new website geared at providing the right information on snowmobile riding and snowmobile trails to those interested in taking advantage of what North Dakota has to offer the snowmobile enthusiast.

Key areas of the site include snowmobile trail conditions, upcoming events, snowmobile safety education and SnoDak News, which is the official publication of Snowmobile North Dakota.

Snowmobile Club to meet Tuesday


Rural Cass Snowmobile Club will hold the next club meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 7 PM at the Pizza Ranch in Casselton.

Meeting topics will include:

  • Signing plans
  • SND convention update
  • Warming house update
  • Bonfire date – new warming house grand opening?
  • SnowJam update
  • Membership update and membership recruiting
  • Safety class schedule
  • Other topics related to the snowmobile trails
